Happy Thanksgiving

This year we decided to have a non-traditional Thanksgiving dinner.  Instead of turkey we ate “personal chickens” (this is what Kate calls Cornish game hens). Our side dishes were stuffing, garlic mashed potatoes, crescent rolls, steamed broccoli, and cauliflower.  Even though we didn’t have turkey, you cannot have Thanksgiving without pumpkin pie and homemade ice-cream. [...]

Happy 13th Birthday Sarah!

We celebrated Sarah’s 13th birthday and Halloween in the middle of a power outage! An early winter snow storm dumped over 10 inches of wet snow.   The heavy snow blanketed the trees and weighed down the leaf-covered branches, causing all sorts of trouble.  Every couple of hours during the storm, one of us would [...]

Our trip to Walt Disney World

Just before school started Grandma & Grandpa Hendricks took us to Walt Disney world in Florida.  We had a blast going to all the parks.   We stayed in the Fort Wilderness Cabins and housekeeping even made it fun by propping the toys into different positions while we were gone.  The first night we came [...]

First Day of School

We now have 5 of our six kids in school.  Chris is a senior this year and can’t wait to be out on his own.  We are working hard helping him apply to West Point.  We are not ready to have him leave just yet.  Mason is a sophomore, Sarah is in 7th grade, Alexandra [...]

Happy Birthday Kate!!!!

Kate turned 5 and started kindergarten this year.  I was worried that she would be too young to handle school.  Boy was I wrong.  She loves riding the bus and if she could she would go stay at school all day.  She was so excited to celebrate her birthday at Cinderella’s dinning table in her [...]

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

At the end of the school year, Allie brought home a flyer for this play. She wanted to try out because Mr. Davis (her choir teacher) invited her. Mason thought it would be fun so he went too. They both did great at their auditions, and were given parts in the play. Mason was to [...]

Eagle Court of Honor

[ ] Once again I am so behind. My sister Michelle came for a quick visit.  We had fun hanging out, going for a walk and seeing a big black bear two houses away and wrapping in up with a visit to NYC.  We walked all over the place, went to a street fair, visited [...]

Joust! Now on Vimeo

Well, I finally got the video of Allie’s play edited, rendered, and uploaded. Now the rest of you can enjoy it. We think she did a great job, and you can tell she really got into it.

Happy Easter!!

Happy Birthday Claire!

Claire loves birthdays. Being the youngest she has had the privilege of helping the other kids blow out their candles and unwrap their gifts. Earlier in the day she found her gifts behind the couch and started unwrapping them. We had a hard time keeping them out of her reach. After a round of happy [...]

New Paltz Prom

Junior has been a whole different child the last month. We like him much better. He has been happier, and easier to get along with. All thanks to dating. This is Chris and Nyah going to her prom. When they first asked each other to prom they decided to go to hers. Then quickly decided [...]

Coming Soon: Joust!

Working on the video of Allie’s play tonight, and decided to add a trailer for it. She was delighted! It’s in HD, so feel free to click the button for full-screen.

Catching up – videos from last year now online!

Wow, editing didn’t take long.  The long part of this process was getting the videos up to Vimeo over the tiny upstream pipe Time Warner gives us.  Plus difficulties with the Vimeo desktop uploader – instead of just letting them upload, they wanted to be baby-sat.  But anyway, here are some links for some video [...]

“Into The Woods”

We wrapped up our very busy week by going to see Sarah in the middle school’s production of “Into The Woods”.  Sarah played the part of Florinda, Cinderella’s ugly step sister.  She named the buns in her hair squirrel, cat and rat.  It took the a good amount of time to do her hair.  They [...]

Presenting Alexandra as King Arthur in “Joust – A Mighty Medieval Musical”

We have been teasing Allie for months since she got the lead in her school play as King Arthur.  ”Oh Allie, how can a girl be the king?  Are you sure it’s not Queen Arthur?”  We are so proud of her. She did a really good job and sang her heart out. We will post [...]
